REMINDER:  Phoenix International Raceway announced that NASCAR has moved Gatorade Pole Qualifying for the semi-final race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup to Friday, Nov. 9 at 4:10 p.m. Gates open to the public Friday at 9 a.m. A full day of activity on the track will be highlighted by Gatorade Pole Qualifying and the running of the Lucas Oil 150 Camping World Truck Series race at 6 p.m.

Friday, May 18, NASCAR Day – The ninth celebration of NASCAR Day on Friday, May 18, encourages fans to join The NASCAR Foundation’s initiative in the “Pin It Forward” campaign. Fans are invited to connect and share their pride for NASCAR by posting stories and uploading pictures on the Foundation’s Facebook page. Saturday night’s all-star race consists of a unique – and lucrative – format. The race will be run in five segments. The first four segments will be 20 laps each. The fifth and final segment will be a 10-lap dash to the finish, where only green flag laps count. The winners of the first four segments will move to the front of the field and line up in positions 1-4 prior to the field coming to pit road for the final mandatory pit stop prior to Segment 5 (if there is a repeat segment winner, the second-place finisher will start in his place). The winner gets a $1 million payout, and likely more.

Those fans in attendance get an extra treat – a pre-race concert by one of the biggest names in country music, Blake Shelton. Shelton, a three-time GRAMMY nominee and CMA’s reigning Male Vocalist of the Year, will perform prior to the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race in the infield between Turns 1 and 2. Admission to the show is free with the purchase of a ticket to the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race.

Wednesday, May 23, 6 p.m., NASCAR Hall of Fame – The fourth annual NASCAR Hall of Fame Voting Day is set for next Wednesday, May 23. Following voting procedures, NASCAR will announce the five inductees who will make up the 2013 NASCAR Hall of Fame class. The NASCAR Hall of Fame Voting Panel, consisting of members of the Nominating Committee and others representing NASCAR, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, major race track ownership groups, retired drivers, owners and crew chiefs along with motorsports media representatives, will meet in a closed session to deliberate and vote on the 25 candidates eligible for this fourth class.

Country music star Darius Rucker will perform prior to the Coca-Cola 600, immediately following the speedway’s signature military-themed pre-race show.

The Memorial Day Weekend festivities kick off the at-track activation of “NASCAR Unites – An American Salute,” a patriotic initiative uniting the NASCAR industry and fans to celebrate America and support U.S. military families. The initiative, which launched at the White House on April 9, will run through the next six weeks, continuing until the Independence Day race weekend at Daytona International Speedway. It’s almost that time of year again where the race fans look forward to some good ‘ole competition among pit crews and attend a “go all-out” non-points race with favorite drivers…. the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series All-Star Race. “NASCAR Rev’d Up,” a six-hour event highlighted by a concert and fan entertainment,returns and is free to the public, on Wednesday, May 18 at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in uptown Charlotte from 4 to 10 p.m. The program will feature driver appearances, NASCAR showcars and interactive displays, and culminate with a free concert starring multi-platinum country artist Gary Allan and country artist Josh Kelley.

The seventh annual NASCAR Sprint Pit Crew Challenge presented by Craftsman will take place prior to the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race on Thursday, May 19 at 7 p.m. at Time Warner Cable Arena (SPEED to televise on delayed basis beginning at 8 p.m.).

This competition between the top 24 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series pit crews has become a popular event among the fans and features some of the top pit crews. The event’s finishing order determines pit selection for the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race. The No. 11 FedEx Toyota is the defending Pit Crew Challenge Champion.

Well, they’re back to perform a pre-race concert before the Air Guard 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Richmond International Raceway. The pre-race concert, presented by Coca-Cola, will take place at 5:45 p.m. at the start/finish line.
Night Ranger has legendary hits like “Sister Christian,” “Rock in America,” “When You Close Your Eyes,” <Midnight Madness> and “Don’t Tell Me You Love Me.” <Dawn Patrol>
During the Post-9/11 GI Bill NASCAR Weekend at Richmond, fans can stop by the Coca-Cola display in The Midway to pick up credentials for access to the concert on the track. A limited number of concert credentials will be available at the Coca-Cola Display on both Friday and Saturday. Fans with concert credentials for the Night Ranger Coca-Cola Pre-Race Concert should enter at Gate 70 for infield access.
 
Fans with tickets to the Air Guard 400 race can watch the Night Ranger concert from their seats and see the performance on Richmond International Raceway’s state-of-the-art video scoring tower.
Night Ranger will also be performing “God Bless America” on ABC Saturday evening, September 11th at 7:30 pm for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Air Guard 400. This is the 26th race of the 36 race season marking NASCAR drivers’ final opportunity to “lock-in” as the top 12 drivers that will participate in the Chase for the Cup.

NASCAR Foundation Track Walk Saturday, September 11

The walk is scheduled to begin at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, September 11.  All participants must check in prior to 1:15 p.m. in order to participate in the walk.**  Late arrivals will not be allowed to participate.
By making a tax-deductible donation—which will benefit Paralyzed Veterans of America, Richmond International Raceway CARES and The NASCAR Foundation—ticket holders will have the opportunity to walk around the ¾-mile D-shaped oval, alongside hundreds of their fellow fans, prior to one of the most anticipated races of the season.
Donations* for participating in the track walk are $30 online, in advance (sign up at foundation.nascar.com) or $35 when signing up at Richmond International Raceway on race weekend, September 10-11.  Registration will be located at Gate 70, on the outside of the track behind Turn 4.  Children 12 and under may walk for free with a paid adult.  All walkers, including children, must have a grandstand ticket to the Saturday, September 11 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in order to participate.  Participants will not be able to enter the track without presenting a race ticket.
