Talladega Superspeedway hosts Fan Fest and NASCAR Hauler Parade

Talladega Superspeedway will host a fan fest and hauler parade at The Outlet Shops of Grand River, a distinctive outlet shopping destination located minutes from Downtown Birmingham in Leeds, Thursday, Oct. 20 from 3-6 p.m.

 

The Talladega Superspeedway Fan Fest & Hauler Parade event will also include:

 

• Prizes and give-aways from The Outlet Shops of Grand River and its family of leading designer and top name brand stores including The Old Farmer’s Almanac General Store, VF Outlet, Black & Decker Clearance Center, Sunglass Warehouse, Ghirardelli Chocolate and more.

• Live radio broadcasts from Lance Taylor from the Roundtable on WJOX, Lori Ray on WZRR, Speedy from  the Rick and Bubba Show on WDXB  and Madison from the Dollar Bill and Madison show on WDXB.

• Music from a local disc jockey

• Face painting by Magic City Face Art

• Balloon art by Dr. B Looney

 

The hauler parade will depart The Outlet Shops of Grand River at 6:15 pm and is expected to arrive at Talladega Superspeedway at approximately 6:45 pm.  Race fans located in the campgrounds are encouraged to turn their attention to Speedway Blvd. and watch the parade as it makes its way into the track.

 

Michael Waltrip Racing holding 5th Annual Fan Fest Wednesday

Michael Waltrip Racing will hold its fifth annual Fan Fest on Wednesday, May 25 at its shop in Cornelius, N.C.

MWR NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers David Reutimann, Martin Truex Jr. and JTG-Daugherty driver Bobby Labonte plus Nationwide Series driver Ryan Truex and East driver Brett Moffitt will join Waltrip to sign autographs.

MWR’s Tim Brown, modified racer and star of the History Channel’s 2010 reality series “Madhouse,” will also sign autographs and display his No. 83 race car.

There are a variety of activities scheduled including show car displays, pit stop practices, games, musical entertainment and food from Mac’s Speed Shop. Team business partners plan to bring interactive displays and fan giveaways.

“It’s very important for Michael Waltrip Racing to show all our fans what their support means to us and over the years this has become one of the year’s highlights,” Waltrip said.

“Everyone here realizes that the fans are the reason we are where we are today. It’s our turn to return the favor and invite them for a fun time at our race shop.”

Waltrip will sign autographs as well as his New York Times best-selling book “In the Blink of an Eye” from 1 to 3 p.m. before joining all the drivers  4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Although Pastrana-Waltrip Racing driver Travis Pastrana will not attend Fan Fest due to filming commitments for an upcoming movie, team merchandise will be available for purchase.

Michael Waltrip Racing is at exit 28 on I-77 in Cornelius, N.C. about 15 miles north of Charlotte, N.C. The team’s race shop and gift shop will be open to the public throughout the day.
